When things improved a bit, my father moved us to 100-year-old farmhouse that stood one block away from the main shopping area of our town. The youngest of five children, I grew up in a poor, integrated neighborhood in a cold-water flat that had neither heat nor hot water. Allow me to lay out some of them, so you will be better able to understand where I came from, where I’ve been, and where I see myself going. Life has been a series of interesting events for me.
